Gavin Beavers became the youngest goalkeeper to notch an assist on a spectacular goal by Anderson Julio and Real Salt Lake defeated FC Dallas 3-2.

Teams from Texas have not been kind to Real Salt Lake recently, but Wednesday's match may have exorcised some demons.

Real Salt Lake beat FC Dallas 3-1 with Anderson Julio scoring twice, moving RSL to second in the Western standings.

Anderson Julio recorded his second brace of the season to lead Real Salt Lake to a 3-2 victory over FC Dallas on Wednesday night at Sandy, Utah. Brayan Vera had a penalty-kick goal for Salt Lake (14-7-8, 50 points), which moved into second place in the Western Conference pending the outcome of Wednesday night's Los Angeles FC and Sounders matches.

On a night when leading scorer Chicho Arango and playmaker Alex Katranis were both on yellow card suspension, Real Salt Lake needed someone to step up on the offense end. That someone was Anderson Julio.
