The mass will be held at Saint Matthew Catholic Church in Winder at 11 a.m. and will be led in Spanish, with a homily in English.

Apalachee High School is planning a “gradual reopening” the week of Sept. 23, the school announced Friday — more than two weeks after police say a student shot and killed four people at the Barrow County campus.

As Apalachee High School and Barrow County officials prepare to reopen the high school's classrooms next week, one Winder nonprofit organization is trying to help students to ease their stress and worries. Adventure Bags, Inc. is hosting a backpack stuffing event to provide students at Apalachee High School with support items.

Barrow County Schools Superintendent Dr. Dallas LeDuff says the administration is planning for public school students to return to the classroom next week.

The Barrow County School Superintendent, Dr. Dallas LeDuff, announced Friday that all schools in the district would return to classes on Tuesday, with the exception of Apalachee High School.

Students, except for those at Apalachee High School, will return to schools in Barrow County Tuesday following the Sept. 4 shooting at AHS.
