Greater Cincinnati is grappling with its largest two-day snowfall since 2008, with reports of 9 to over 11 inches of snow.

The 8.4 inches of snow recorded in Cincinnati breaks the previous record of 6.9 inches set in 1977, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. A heavy mix of precipitation is expected Monday, with forecasters predicting an additional 2 to 4 inches of snow in portions of Southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana.

The seasonably cold January weather is sticking around Chicagoland this week. Early-morning temperatures Wednesday were in the single digits away from the lake and in the teens closer to the lake, with winds out of the northwest dropping wind-chill values to around zero in some locations.
