The 2025 James Beard Foundation Award semifinalists have been announced, and one Dutchess County chef has made the list. The James Beard Awards recognize extraordinary talent within the culinary and food media industries, identifying the best restaurants and chefs in the country.

Texas claimed 39 restaurants, chefs and professionals who were nominated as semifinalists for the 2025 James Beard Awards. See the full list.

The James Beard Foundation also awards medals to honorees in food media, including cookbooks, TV shows, and journalism. Those nominees will be announced May 7 with the winners revealed June 14. Check back here for the latest on the awards throughout the year.
