Today marks one year to go until the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. The ski resorts are getting ready to co-host the event, marking the return of the games to a traditional European venue for the first time in two decades.

Next year’s Olympics might be called the Milan Cortina Games but it will actually be staged across a large swath of northern Italy spread over five different venue clusters.
