Rockstar Games announced on Friday that Grand Theft Auto VI 's release date has been pushed back to May 26, 2026. While a previous launch date was never officially announced, Take-Two Interactive—the publishing label that owns Rockstar— said in May 2024 that it was being targeted for fall 2025.

Rockstar Games needs another six months to polish one of the most anticipated titles in recent memory, though it promises to release new details about the game soon.

Fans took to social media to express their disappointment, stating the studio was taking nearly 13 years to produce the sequel.
