Storm Herminia has led the Met Office to issue a host of new weather warnings for the UK this morning, with heavy rain and wind expected to hit the country over the next 24 hours

Yellow weather warnings for wind and heavy rain have been issued for large parts of the UK as a new storm is set to wreak havoc following Éowyn last week.

Another bout of extreme weather is set to bring even more disruption to the UK - just hours after Storm Éowyn wreaked havoc and was dubbed the 'worst storm since 1998'

The Met Office has issued multiple yellow weather warnings as Storm Herminia, named by the Spanish meteorological office, batters the UK.

A further yellow wind warning stretching from the south coast up to north east England is in place from 10pm on Sunday until 7am on Monday, while a rain warning covering southern and central England and Wales is in place until 6am on Monday. Another rain warning over most of Wales will remain in place until 11:59pm on Monday.

Storm Herminia has brought wind and heavy rain to much of Wales and southern England, with a major incident being declared in Somerset. More than 100 people have been evacuated in the south-western county following flooding in the early hours of Monday,
