Jayden Daniels won on Sunday night, sending the Washington Commanders to the playoffs. And that usually would be enough that he wouldn’t have to share the spotlight. But the other rookie quarterback in the game, Michael Penix Jr. of the Atlanta Falcons, was also fantastic in rallying his team to overtime with a great game-tying drive in regulation.
The Falcons were outscored 23-7 after halftime, mismanaged the clock and fumbled away the NFC South lead entering Week 18.
If the Atlanta Falcons finish second in the NFC South, they'll face Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders again on their 2025 schedule.
Even in their loss to the Commanders, the Falcons look to have made the right call between Kirk Cousins and Michael Penix Jr.
