A house was swept into the Russian River by a mudslide in Forestville near the Forest Hills Bridge Tuesday afternoon as an atmospheric river battered Northern California.

Heavy rain is pounding Northern California and it triggered a huge mudslide that sent a home sliding into the Russian River in the town of Forestville. Watch this video to see the stunning aftermath and learn what’s behind all the rain.

The mudslide was reported at approximately 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Westside Road and Rio Vista Road in Forestville, the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post. The house, which was unoccupied, was later spotted downstream, Wood said.
