Former Trinity Christian Academy-Cedar Hill star Shedeur Sanders was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 144th overall pick in the Round 5 of the 2025 NFL draft. Sanders, whose father is Pro Football Hall of Famer and current Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, made waves when he wasn’t selected on either of the draft’s first two days.

Jones went on to relay a story of Deion Sanders' actions back int he mid-1990s at his introductory press conference with the Cowboys, playing with his kid in the locker room, his "genuine" love shown for his family. Jones believes this is the foundation for Shedeur's character.
