Illegal border crossings dropped to their lowest level for the month of February in recorded history, according to the latest U.S. Customs and Border Protection data. In February, 28,654 encounters and apprehensions of illegal border crossers were reported nationwide – a roughly 90% drop from the number reported in previous Februarys under the Biden administration.

The Border Patrol logged more than 140,000 apprehensions in February 2024. That is more than 16 times as many as last month. In addition, data shows that February’s Border Patrol apprehensions were the lowest of any month going back at least 25 years.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection in February apprehended 8,347 migrants attempting to cross the southern border, the lowest in history, as arrests of undocumented people in the nation are rising.

Customs and Border Protection informed that there were fewer than 8,500 border crossings in February, the lowest amount for any month in recorded history. The concrete figure was 8,347, a 94% drop compared to the same month of last year.
