The second in a pair of back-to-back storm systems moved across Southern California overnight, triggering small mudslides in the Palisades Fire burn area and keeping public works crews and first responders on alert.

The stretch of the highway along the Pacific Ocean between Santa Monica and Malibu reopened to regular traffic. Some local officials believe it is too soon.

Just a day after fully reopening for the first time in weeks, Pacific Coast Highway will close again Tuesday in anticipation of back-to-back storms set to roll through Southern California that could potentially cause landslides in areas recently burned by the Palisades Fire.
