Iowa is up against a behemoth in Penn State. It's a team coming off of the best NCAA Championship outing ever and has each of its projected wrestlers currently ranked in an All-American position by Intermat. By March, it could be seen as the best team in NCAA wrestling history. Yet, the message remains the same.

The No. 1 Penn State Nittany Lions wrestling team embarks on a big match week with the 2nd-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes coming to the Bryce Jordan Center for a Friday night Big Ten match.

The Nittany Lions (9-0) scored four technicals, including the 11th this season by top-ranked Mitchell Mesenbrink (165 pounds). Redshirt freshman Josh Barr (197) produced the signature win, scoring seven (!) takedowns in the third period for a 22-6 win. Barr scored six more takedowns in the third than Rutgers (one) did the entire match.

Penn State wrestling will put its No. 1 ranking and 65 consecutive dual meet victory streak on the line Friday night when it welcomes No. 2 Iowa to the Bryce Jordan Center. The undefeated Hawkeyes meet the Nittany Lions at 7 p.
