Protesters marched around the North Carolina State Capitol building on Wednesday, part of a nationwide series of demonstrations in state capitals against the new administration of President Donald Trump.

The peaceful but passionate protest that began on the steps of the Rhode Island State House and then wound around the building was aimed at President Donald Trump's actions during his first weeks back at the White House, including his flurry of executive orders and pardon of 1,500 participants in the violent Jan. 6, 2021 breach of the U.S. Capitol.

The protest is in solidarity with the 50501 Movement, a nationwide protest against the president's policies and executive orders.
