Taiwan’s Starlux Airlines is looking to launch a new nonstop flight between Taipei and Phoenix as early as February, according to Mayor Kate Gallego.

Phoenix is set to gain its first-ever nonstop service to Asia, as Taiwanese full-service carrier Starlux Airlines unveiled plans to launch Taipei flights early next year—just months after Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) unveiled a record $165 billion investment to expand its chipmaking operations in the Arizona city.

Starlux Airlines confirmed on Wednesday it would begin operating non-stop service from Taoyuan to Phoenix, Arizona, in February next year. Flight details are awaiting approval from the competent authorities,
