DENVER — Nearly 26 years later, the Columbine High School massacre officially claimed another life. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, in a newly completed autopsy report, ruled last month’s death of Anne Marie Hochhalter, a 43-year-old paralyzed in the 1999 shooting, was a homicide.

The February 2025 death of Anne Marie Hochhalter, who was partially paralyzed when she was shot during the Columbine High School massacre, has been ruled a homicide.

Anne Marie Hochhalter, who was paralyzed from the waist down when she was shot in the chest and back, died on Feb. 16. A coroner classified the death as a homicide.
