Light snow with strong winds will lead to blowing snow and near-blizzard conditions over the Palmer Divide this morning.

Forecast models showing a major snowstorm for the New York City area this weekend have been making the rounds on social media. But will it happen?

A potential blizzard could be on its way to the D.C. area Friday night through Saturday. This storm could dump not just several inches but possibly feet of snow in the region.

Additional light snow will filter through the region, as our winds continue out of the North and West. We’ll finally wrap this event Thursday afternoon, with the flakes slowly becoming more confined to the higher elevation zones.
