Apple’s board said a conservative think tank's proposal seeking to force it to abolish DEI initiatives was an inappropriate effort to restrict its business operations.

Apple's board of directors recommended shareholders reject a proposal for the company to end its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) program, calling such a move "unnecessary."

The proposal, if approved by Apple shareholders, would require the company to considering removing its DEI programs.

Meta recently joined companies like Walmart, Lowe’s and Ford, which have already announced they would scale back their commitments to diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
