A Colorado Springs middle school will close Friday as the school district works to mitigate safety concerns brought up by a building inspection.

Jenkins Middle School in Colorado Springs is closing temporarily for safety concerns and students will be relocated.

The new zones were put in at Rampart High School, Mitchell High School, Jenkins Middle School, and Carmel Community School. The city identified these schools as being heavy traffic areas and thus more likely to see potential accidents involving students.

Four new traffic zones have been installed outside of Colorado Springs schools as part of an ongoing initiative.
