The Federal Aviation Administration was forced to briefly slow arriving and departing planes at New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport on Sunday because of a new telecommunications issue, the agency said.

Air traffic control problems continued at Newark Liberty International Airport on Sunday morning after an equipment glitch, officials said.

A 45-minute-long ground stop at Newark Liberty International Airport has been lifted. The ground stop was put in place by the FAA in response to an air traffic control equipment outage. This outage comes after two similar equipment outage incidents – one on April 28 and the other on May 9.
