The controversy surrounding the ghee used in making laddoos at Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati Temple has escalated into a public spat between actor-politician Pawan Kalyan and actor Prakash Raj.

The controversy surfaced after Andhra CM N Chandrababu Naidu made allegations on Thursday that the previous Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government had used animal fat instead of ghee to prepare the laddoo ‘prasadam’ at Tirumala.

Pawan Kalyan has expressed his outrage over shocking allegations regarding the adulteration of the revered Tirupati Laddu prasadam. Complaints about unusual taste and smell led to a disturbing revelation of animal fat in the prasadam.

AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said on Friday that the state government is committed to taking stringent action against those involved in the use of ghee mixed with animal fat in Tirupathi laddu.

Pawan Kalyan voiced concerns over alleged adulteration of the sacred Tirupati laddus, claiming the ghee contained animal fats, including fish oil, pork fat, and beef fat.

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Janasena Party leader, Pawan Kalyan, announced on Saturday that he will embark on an 11-day penance to seek divine intervention following allegations of animal fats being used in the famous Tirupati laddus.

The controversy over the reported adulteration of the Tirupati laddoo has made Karnataka go for a huge testing drive of all prasadam (devotional food offerings) of prominent temples across the state.
