Rose will become the fifth player in Bulls history to get their jersey number retired, joining Jerry Sloan (No. 4), Bob Love (No. 10), Michael Jordan (No. 23) and Scottie Pippen (No. 33). Earlier this week, Rose told ESPN that he "would love" to have his jersey retired by the Bulls. Just days later, he learned that wish is already coming true.
President and COO of the Bulls, Michael Reinsdorf, joined Rose to tell the 208 No. 1 overall pick that the Bulls would put his number in the rafters. Cameras were there to capture the moment as an emotional Rose shed tears and hugged Reinsdorf.
The Rose jersey retirement will be held during the next NBA season (2025-26), and details will be announced at a later date.
