A crash early Tuesday in Fort Worth snarled traffic as the eastbound lanes on a portion of I-30 were closed. The crash occurred at the I-30 at East Loop 820 shortly before 6 a.m., according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
Dallas police officer Gabriel Bixby, who was killed in a motorcycle crash earlier this month, was honored with funeral services Tuesday. Services begin at 11 a.m. at Lakepointe Church in Rockwall and the Dallas Police Department will be livestreaming the services on their Facebook page.
All westbound lanes of I-30 will be shut down and drivers will be detoured to the frontage road at St. Francis Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20 for bridge maintenance, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
“Just one decision on the part of one of those road users, whether that be the person walking or the person driving, probably could have made that different,” he said. “Different design of the roadway or different infrastructure in place, et cetera, all those things, any of those factors could have helped prevent [a] crash.”
