Kevin Durant has made a bold admission about the Phoenix Suns amid rumours linking them with the Miami Heat's Jimmy Butler.

He has been at odds with the Heat since team president Pat Riley called him out after they got booted out of the playoffs last season. Butler, who recently hung out with Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston, is averaging 17.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game this season.

The starters for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game have been announced, and some familiar faces lead the way. The announcement came on TNT’s Inside the NBA on Thursday night, before tipoff between the Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat.

Ramona Shelburne of ESPN has come out with the latest report detailing the feelings about Butler's role with Miami and how there was a disconnect on who was being valued. While Butler “wasn't upset” that Bam Adebayo was made the Heat's captain, it proved as “validation” that wasn't his team.

In games where he has played, Butler has gotten the sense that Miami's offense is gearing more toward the Tyler Herro-Bam Adebayo duo, forcing him to be the third option. Although Herro is having a career year, Butler feels that if he's going to be the third option, he'd rather be a third option for Phoenix.
