The New York Yankees are planning to play Frank Sinatra's version of "Theme From New York, New York" only after home wins. The franchise previously played the iconic song after both wins and losses at Yankee Stadium.

Frank Sinatra's "Theme from New York, New York" will no longer be played following Yankees losses in the Bronx. The change to the longstanding tradition dating back to 1980 comes days after the Yankees changed their facial hair policy.

The Yankees played Sinatra’s "That's Life" instead of the usual "New York, New York" on the loudspeakers after Sunday's 4-0 defeat.

New York will compete in Spring Training games until March 25. Facing Boston would have given New York a chance to feel out the new-look Red Sox and the threat they pose in the American League East with superstar second baseman Alex Bregman and All-Star Tanner Houck on the mound. They’ll get their next crack at the Red Sox on March 18.
