SpaceX has blown up another Starship mega rocket on a test flight. Nearly two months after an explosion sent flaming debris raining down on the Turks and Caicos, SpaceX launched another mammoth Starship rocket on Thursday, but lost contact minutes into the test flight as the spacecraft came tumbling down and broke apart.

SpaceX’s ambitious Starship rocket met a fiery end during its eighth test flight on March 6, 2025. The day began with high hopes as SpaceX prepared to launch its mammoth 123-meter (403-foot) Starship rocket.

SpaceX has urged the U.S. to address trade barriers affecting its Starlink satellite communications service in foreign countries, arguing that competitors from abroad face no import costs in the country.
