Speedster Mohammed Shami has claimed 196 wickets in 102 ODIs at an average of 23.75. He holds the record for picking up most five-wicket hauls by an Indian bowler in ODIs with five five-fors to his name. Shami also holds the record for best bowling figures by an Indian bowler in ODIs – 7/57, which he achieved against Sri Lanka in 2023 World Cup.

England batsman Joe Root will make his first ODI appearance since 2023 after being named in the team to face India in the opening match of the series in Nagpur on Thursday.
