Billy Joel postpones his tour to take a four-month break to focus on his health and recovery from an undisclosed 'medical condition.' He says, 'My health must come first.'

"Billy Joel's upcoming concert dates will be rescheduled due to a medical condition," the statement began. "The current tour will be postponed for four months to allow him to recover from recent surgery and to undergo physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors."

Joel's concert with Sting at American Family Field April 26 is being postponed while he recovers from surgery. A new date has yet to be announced.

If you haven’t seen Billy Joel in concert for the longest time and had tickets to one of his upcoming shows, you will have wait even longer to get your shot at seeing the Piano Man in action. The famed Long Island singer announced on social media on Tuesday that he had a “medical condition” that would force him to postpone shows for four months.

Billy Joel recently turned the lights back on, but he will be at least temporarily dimming them for a bit this summer. The musician shared today that eight of his shows this spring and summer will be rescheduled after an undisclosed surgical procedure.

Joel was scheduled to perform at Rice-Eccles on May 23, 2025, alongside English musician Sting. Both artists will be at the rescheduled date, which will be a year later on May 22, 2026. Joel has played in Utah several times over the course of his career, the last being in November 2017 at Vivint Smart Home Arena (now the Delta Center).
