Authorities are engaged in a standoff Monday night with a suspect they say took his girlfriend hostage and fired shots at officers in southwest Alabama. The incident began around 5:45 p.m. Monday in Atmore, when police responded to a home by Carver Avenue and Brown Street, authorities told Fox 10.

Blount was arrested and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center. He faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, first-degree kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and third-degree domestic violence harassment.
