The Delhi Weather Centre has warned of worsening cold wave conditions from Wednesday, with wind speeds between 20 and 30 km/h likely to lower temperatures further

Parts of Delhi experienced cold day conditions, with air quality worsening from moderate to poor, and temperatures below normal. Safdarjung's minimum temperature was 9.6°C, and Narela recorded the lowest maximum at 14.

As 2024 approaches, Delhi is under the grip of a severe cold wave with dense fog covering the city. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted cloudy skies on New Year's Eve with temperatures hovering between 10.

The air quality index recorded in the national capital at 8 am is 179, categorised as moderate, according to the data of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

The Met Department has predicted a gradual decrease in temperatures across parts of northwest and central India, including Delhi, in the coming days.
