Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers announced on Wednesday that he is entering the 2025 NFL draft. Ewers spent the past three years as the Longhorns' starting signal-caller and now heads to the pros with flashes of being a decent QB.

Texas junior quarterback Quinn Ewers has declared for the NFL draft, ending a Longhorns career in which he led the program to a Big 12 championship and twice to the College Football Playoff but was not always embraced by a fan base eagerly waiting for Arch Manning to take over.

The decision was largely expected after Ewers told ESPN last week that he didn’t plan to return to college football in 2025.

The Dallas Morning News' Kevin Sherrington recently wrote that the second or third round seems about right for Ewers, but the volatility of the quarterback position could see him go higher. Vinnie Iyer of The Sporting News had Ewers going in the first round of his latest mock draft, landing with the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 21 overall.
