Police are investigating a homicide Monday morning in Birmingham's Huffman area. Officers were called to a shooting around 8 a.m. on Gadsden Highway and Parkway East near a shopping center. WVTM 13 was the first television station on the scene when crews saw an ambulance leaving the scene.

Witnesses said the young boy began to cry as officers escorted him from the scene to the East Precinct to try and locate other family members.
