The Calgary Flames will have two new faces in the lineup for Saturday’s Hockey Night in Canada clash with the Detroit Red Wings. The Flames made a major move Thursday night, acquiring forwards Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for Andrei Kuzmenko,
The Flyers made a late-night shakeup, reaching a deal with the Flames that sent longtime faces Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost to Calgary. In return, the Flyers are getting wingers Andrei Kuzmenko and Jakob Pelletier, a second-round draft pick this summer and a seventh-round draft pick in 2028.
In the end, this is not a perfect trade for the Flames, either. They get two players who could work out for them in the long run. In the same vein as how Kuzmenko and Pelletier could work for the Flyers. Until that happens, though, it's hard to give them the highest of grades.
Farabee and Morgan Frost (undisclosed) were traded to the Flames from the Flyers on Thursday in exchange for Jakob Pelletier, Andrei Kuzmenko, a 2025 second-round pick and a 2028 seventh-round pick, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
The Calgary Flames traded wingers Andrei Kuzmenko and Jakob Pelletier, plus second- and seventh-round draft picks, to the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night for center Morgan Frost and winger Joel Farabee.
The Philadelphia Flyers acquired left wings Andrei Kuzmenko and Jakob Pelletier – and two draft picks – in the trade.
Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost played their last game with the Flyers on Thursday night. The team sent both forwards to Calgary in a trade with the Flames. In return, the Flyers received Andrei Kuzmenko, Jakob Pelletier, a 2025 second-round pick and 2028 seventh-round pick.
The Flyers are moving Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost in a trade with the Flames, a source confirmed Thursday night to NBC Sports Philadelphia.
The Flames welcomed centre Morgan Frost and left-winger Joel Farabee — both in their mid-20s, and both drafted as first-rounders — in a jaw-dropper of a deal Thursday with the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Flyers added to the evening’s trade buzz when Frost was pulled midway through a 3-0 loss to the New York Islanders. Philadelphia drafted the six-foot, 193-pound forward from Aurora, Ont., in the first round, 27th overall, in 2017.
On the surface of the big trade between the Calgary Flames and Philadelphia Flyers, it appears the Flames got the much better of the deal. That might be true today, especially if we judge the deal based on what the Flames need as they push for a playoff spot.
