Duran became the first Red Sox player with a straight steal of home since Jacoby Ellsbury did it exactly 16 years ago (April 26, 2009) against the Yankees. The leadoff hitter went 3-for-5 with a triple, three runs and two RBIs in the Red Sox’ 7-3 victory over the Guardians in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday.

Jarren Duran did more than just steal home against the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday, also notching a triple, two RBIs and three runs to earn a spot in the Boston Red Sox history books.

Duran pulled off Boston’s first straight steal of home plate in exactly 16 years, scoring on a next pitch from Doug Nikhazy as the Red Sox beat the Cleveland Guardians 7-3 on Saturday night.
