November 12 marked the first day that over 30% Stillwater Mine employees were to be laid off. Montana Department of Labor and Industry held a rapid response event for those laid off employees.

As the Sibanye Stillwater mine layoffs conclude this week, the Montana Department of Labor reports that about 26 percent of the state's mining workforce is being cut.

Provided the request for funding is approved, DLI has a comprehensive plan to support dislocated workers and families over the next 24 months.
