In October 2024, deputies launched an investigation into reports of animal cruelty in the 400 block of Cabin Creek. During the inquiry, they determined that Sabrina Blackburn, Bruce Blackburn, and Ladon Keene were in possession of several dogs requiring medical attention.

On Jan. 30, 2025, deputies seized four dogs from a property and took them as evidence to the Davidson County Animal Shelter.
