Georgia’s highest court heard arguments Wednesday on whether a lower court judge ruled correctly when he blocked seven rules passed by the State Election Board just before last year’s general election and declared that the board didn’t have the authority to pass them.

The fight over how Georgia handles elections resumes today as the state Supreme Court hears arguments on controversial election rule changes that were previously blocked by a lower court.

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — The Georgia Supreme Court on Wednesday morning is hearing an appeal of a Fulton County judge's ruling last year that suspended new State Election Board rules that were to be put in place for the November election.
