Martine Vik Magnussen, 23, was raped and murdered after a night out with friends at the Maddox nightclub in Mayfair on March 14 2008.

A new plea to the son of a billionaire suspected of raping and murdering a Norwegian student in London 17 years ago to return to the UK has been issued by the Metropolitan Police. The body of 23-year-old Martine Vik Magnussen was discovered in a Great Portland Street basement in 2008.

CCTV work identified Farouk Abdulhak as the main suspect. He had been at Maddox nightclub with Martine on 14 March and fled the UK within hours of her death, travelling to Egypt and then onto Yemen.

Seventeen years after the death of Norwegian student Martine Vik Magnussen, her father pleaded directly to the man suspected of raping and murdering her.
