Swedish police have detained a 16-year-old suspected of shooting and killing three people in the city of Uppsala on Tuesday.

Several people have died after a shooting at a hair salon in the town of Uppsala, Swedish media have reported. Police said they have received calls from members of the public who reported that they heard loud bangs that sounded like gunfire close to Vaksala Square in the centre of the city.

Swedish police have said the shooting took place at a hair salon and that it is believed to have been an "isolated event".
