The Maha Kumbh area in Prayagraj has been declared a no-vehicle zone, with VVIP passes cancelled and roads leading to the fair have been converted into one-way routes to ensure an orderly flow of devotees, India Today reported.

PM Modi and Amit Shah have been taking stock since Wednesday morning, Yogi Adityanath said after the Maha Kumbh stampede.

Earlier in the day, a stampede-like situation at the Maha Kumbh’s Sangam left multiple casualties feared, as millions of pilgrims gathered for a holy bath on Mauni Amavasya.
